There are 17 different species of fish in lake Fegen. One of them is a rare spring-spawning type of Cisco, found in only three lakes in the world. It is believed that the species have disappeared from the two other lakes since there haven't been any signs of its existence in those lakes since the 70s and 80s.
Hike the beautiful Gislavedsleden trail, which stretches 100 kilometers from Fegen in the south up to Isaberg in the north. The trail is part of the Småland Trail and passes cultural monuments and places such as Sandvik's bathing place and Café Sockenstugan, open during the summer season.
The Fegen area consists of the three municipalities surrounding Lake Fegen and they are Gislaved, Falkenberg and Svenljunga.
